NEW BOARD MEMBERS SOUGHT
Do you have the time and skills to help shape the KMT's future?
New Board Members are being sought to join the existing Board of Trustees for the KMT (the trading name of Redbridge Theatre Company Limited). We are looking for enthusiastic and hardworking individuals who can deliver a wide range of experience and skills to help us achieve our future objectives.
Redbridge Theatre Company Limited is a registered charity (no. 264473) and a not-for-profit organisation in the London Borough of Redbridge, governed by a Board of nine Trustees. Until recently, the KMT was funded by Redbridge Council, but since the end of the last financial year this grant has been withdrawn. We have recently amended our Articles of Association and the composition of the Board and therefore there is a need to diversify the funding of the Company and strengthen the Board in order to ensure long-term sustainability.
Our Trustees are vital to ensuring the organisation is able to develop and flourish. Artistic vision and excellence sit side by side with the need to develop a sustainable business model and achieve challenging strategic and capital project goals. As is the case with most small charities, as well as performing a governance role, Trustees are expected to provide practical assistance and support to the small executive team in areas in which they are qualified to do so. The Trustee role is both engaging and demanding. This is a real opportunity to assist in the development of the Theatre and more broadly the cultural life of the area it serves.
We are particularly interested in those with skills and professional expertise in the following areas:
- Fundraising: income generation in an arts context
- Marketing: sales, commerce income generation, PR or branding
- Building and construction: financial management of complex projects
- Digital: film-maker, broadcaster or social media expert
- Finance and accounting
- Human Resources
The post of Trustee is a voluntary position. There are four Board meetings a year (minimum) with notice of meetings and associated documents sent electronically. Trustees may also serve on a sub-committee; meetings are held according to need.
The Chair of the Board is Jeremy Smith.
